Welcome to the NPI Newsletter!
This newsletter describes recent and upcoming innovations, results, and events by NPI faculty, students, and industry sponsors.
IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM OUR DIRECTORS
This year has been quite a bit different from what we had imagined. Because of Covid-19, NPI faculty and students have had to shift to remote work, but we are continuing to conduct research and organize virtual events, such as our monthly seminar series. We look forward to gathering with all of our members when it is safe to do so.
We also wanted to state that we stand united with our Black colleagues. As a first step, we have created additional remote internships for Black students this summer. We have also committed time and resources to the SoNIC workshop, led by Professor Hakim Weatherspoon at Cornell, which seeks to grow the pipeline of Black PhD students in networking. We will continue to proactively work to fight racism in our respective institutions and would welcome input from NPI members on effective ways to do this. We look forward to hearing from you, and working together in the months and years ahead, to make the networking community stronger and more inclusive.
